Noma 1800w Backup Power System Manual
[Canadian Tire] CT Jan. 19-25: Noma 400W backup $99.99, 1800W $299.99. More offers from Canadian Tire. Edit: I hope the NOMA Back-up Power System, 1,800W also.
I also responded in the other thread. These rebranded NOMA units are actually Xantrex units.
Very good products. Powersource 400 Powersource 1800 Keep in mind that i'm a little skeptical about even the 1800 'running a sump pump, refridgerator etc' continously for a longer length of time. I don't doubt that it will get these things going. But I wonder how long that 60 amp hour (3x20 amp hour SLA AGM) will actually last under sump pump conditions? On the other hand, i'm quite surprised at the flexibility with my powersource 400. It's run many things in my home and it's been worth every penny. Here's a review on the powersource 400 unit from home perspective.
Jan 18th, 2007 3:10 pmVancouver, we had lots some even 3 days long and a few people died because they used their outdoor BBQ's to heat their home Wow, do you mean Vancouver itself or somewhere else in the GVRD? I live in Burnaby, and my computer was running UPS-less throughout this whole mess.
2+2 online tv ukraine. Not so much as a flicker. Of course, I commute via transit, so I haven't escaped unharmed either.
PS Tis sad and all, but I can't believe people are so stupid to mix unvented combustion and a tightly sealed home. I thought we had all learned about that many years ago. Here's a review on the powersource 400 unit from home perspective: Manufacturer says the 1800 can drive a 1/2 hp sump pump for 45 min. Probably just barely sufficient for a temporary blackout during a heavy storm.
Should work for several hours during non-storm blackouts when the sump pump isn't working every few minutes. See: I bought one last year when it went on sale for $349.99, then went back a month later for price protection adjustment when it went down to $299.99. If you're thinking of getting one, this is as cheap as it gets, so don't wait.
My Noma Backup Power System 1800, which I purchased June 28 2008, stopped functioning properly and when I initially called too see what service was available and asked what the warranty period and was was told they would need a receipt before they could tell me anything. I tracked the receipt down and called back only to be told that it was past warranty and that there was no non warranty service available.
I found it to be ridiculous that they sell a $500 item under their store brand that they can not provide support for and made me track down a receipt before they could tell me the warranty period. The only solution they had was to buy a new one or call the manufacturer. Based on this experience, I would not buy another Canadian Tire / Noma product again. 0 Votes hello, I'm pretty teed off myself with this product. It is unreliable and should not be sold - especially if it is required for emergency situations (fridge, small space heater or Sump Pump).
